Here are some images from my recent two shoots.
For me, taking photos is about documenting history, capturing those memories or stages in life that will never be repeated - whether they are of a special event like a birth, your Nana's 80th , or the essence of childhood - all have a story to tell about who we are or what we were.
Society documents its history in many ways through mediums such as: photos, videos, TV programs, paintings, drawings, books, papers, songs, blogs, websites, emails, facebook and the list goes on. However, everyone has memories that are not documented - kept in their minds, some would feel not significant enough to share, but still they are treasured. This is where my folio is taking me, and as it unfolds so do the many untapped memories of my childhood.

The shots are interesting but soooo dark - not in the technical light/dark way but in the eerie theme dark way. Do they need to be so? Do you think we romantisise memory or do you want to speak of a troubled childhood - there is something very lonely about those shots. Have a look at "Family Frames" by Marianne Hirsch.
